When the Town Hall closed and Council moved to the former bank building at the junction of Mosman and Gill Street (then referred to as City Hall), and the old Town Hall was removed/demolished?, the Day Nursery relocated to the two storey original Bank of New South Wales building opposite it in Gill Street, which later also housed the Charters Towers Library. The Nursery was operated at the rear of the premises (former Kitchen area).
